When should I arrive at the competition?
Relevé asks that all dancers be ready to dance at least one half hour prior to their scheduled time. Follow your studio directors guidelines as to when you should arrive. Keep in mind that the doors to the venue will not open until 15 minutes prior to the scheduled event. Any dancers found on school grounds will be asked to leave. These are strict guidelines given to us by the venue and are in place to keep their students safe. Please respect their rules.
Where do I go when I arrive at the competition?
If you are doing a Solo or Duo/Trio, please check in with Relevé Services. They will direct you where to go. Otherwise, all group dancers DO NOT need to check in individually. Go directly to your studios dressing room by following the dressing room signs posted throughout the venue. Find your studio director to get your Relevé Pass. You will need your pass for Master Class entrance, Master Class Finalist (if qualified) and also to receive your competition souvenir from Relevé Services.
How much does it cost to watch the competition?
Our competitions are free to the public!
What types of music are allowed?
We have a “Family Friendly” policy at Relevé, therefore all music and/or costumes MUST be family friendly and age appropriate.
Where can I upload my music?
We require all music to be uploaded to your account for each routine. You can do this by logging into your account. We accept the following formats: MP3, MP4, M4A, and WAV. Music must be uploaded 2 weeks prior to the competition. If you don’t upload music by the due date, we will NOT have it for the competition. It is expected that you bring a backup of your music on a clean, good quality CD, MP3 device or flash drive to the competition.
When and where can I view the competition schedule?
A daily outline schedule will be emailed to registered participants approximately one week prior to the competition. A tentative schedule for competing routines will be available for each studio or registered individual in their Relevé account. You can access this by logging into your account, clicking Competition/View Lineup. A downloadable program will be available on our website the day of the competition.
Will the performance run in the order of the program?
For the most part, our events run in the order of the program. However, we try to be accommodating to quick changes and unforeseen circumstances, and therefore may skip over an entry and come back to it later. By doing so, we are able to run an on-time ( and in many cases, early!) event.
When should I check-in backstage?
Please check in backstage 3-5 routines before your scheduled time. You will be allowed backstage three numbers before your routine.
Who is allowed backstage?
Unfortunately, our backstage area is reserved for current performers, teachers and studio directors in order to avoid congestion and overcrowding. Dancers not performing within the 5 dances prior are NOT allowed backstage. We understand that many parents are involved with props and we will allow those parents backstage NO MORE THAN five dances before.
Is photography/videography allowed?
Photography is allowed with NO FLASH, as this is dangerous to the dancers. Videography is NOT allowed. You can purchase a professional recording of each routine from Relevé Services. Photographs/recordings of participants by any of the Relevé staff, contractors, or members of the press become the property of Relevé and may be used for future publicity. Third party photos are strictly prohibited.
Can I purchase a recording of my routine?
Yes! Relevé offers wonderful and extremely affordable videos that have been a hit with our studio families for years! You may purchase a recording of your routine by going to Relevé Services the day of the competition OR by logging into your account on our website after the competition. You will receive your digital download via email within five business days.
Can I bring food to the competition?
In order to continue to use high quality venues for our competitions, we ask that you please not bring any outside food or drink. We do offer a variety of snacks for purchase at Concessions. Also, absolutely NO FOOD in the auditorium!
Do you have Relevé apparel for purchase at your competition?
Yes! We have a variety of apparel that can only be purchased at the competition.
How do I register for Master Class and how much does it cost to attend?
Master Classes are FREE to any REGISTERED dancer. There is no additional registration required for the class; simply show up with your Relevé Pass that you can get from your STUDIO director. Non-registered dancers may attend the class for a fee. No entrance permitted into the class without your pass.
What is Relevé Rock Out?
Relevé Rock Out is a dance off that takes place at the end of Master Class. The dance is learned during Master Class and finalists are chosen at the end of the class. Parents may observe the Relevé Rockout which is held the last 15 minutes of class.
When is Relevé Rock Out?
A preliminary Relevé Rock Out is held the last 15 minutes of Master Class. Parents are invited to watch during this time free of charge. Finalists will then be selected during class and awarded gift cards and fashion items.
