Relevé Dance Competitions Terms and Conditions

Effective date: September 10, 2026

These Terms and Conditions (the “Terms”) govern use of the Relevé Dance Competitions website and registration for, attendance at, and participation in any Relevé Dance Competitions event, competition, class, workshop, rehearsal, performance, or related activity (collectively, an “Event”). “Relevé,” “we,” “our,” and “us” mean Relevé Dance Competitions. “Registrant” means the studio owner, studio representative, independent participant, parent, or legal guardian submitting a registration.

By using our website, creating an account, submitting a pre-registration or registration, making a payment, or attending or participating in an Event, you agree to these Terms. If you register participants for a studio, you confirm that you are authorized to accept these Terms for the studio and that you have obtained all required permissions and agreements from each participant’s parent or legal guardian.

1. Registration and Eligibility

All registration information must be complete and accurate. The Registrant is responsible for confirming participant names, birthdates, routine information, skill levels, music, and all other entry details before applicable deadlines.

Registration is not complete until it has been accepted by Relevé and all required payments have been received. Relevé may close registration before the published deadline if an Event reaches capacity and may refuse or cancel an entry that is incomplete, unpaid, inaccurate, submitted after a deadline, or inconsistent with these Terms or published Event rules.

2. Pre-Registration

Pre-registration allows a studio to request space before regular registration. A pre-registration request does not guarantee placement, scheduling, or acceptance unless Relevé confirms the request and any required pre-registration payment has been received.

All amounts paid during pre-registration—including deposits, reservation fees, installment payments, and payments applied to requested entries—are final and nonrefundable. Pre-registration payments will not be refunded, credited, transferred, or carried forward if a studio, participant, or routine later withdraws, reduces entries, becomes unavailable, or decides not to attend.

Pre-registration space may not be sold, assigned, or transferred to another studio without Relevé’s prior written approval. Relevé may release unpaid or unused pre-registration space when required deadlines are not met.

3. Solo Entry Limit

Each dancer may register for no more than one solo per Event. This limit applies during both pre-registration and regular registration. Additional solo entries will not be accepted unless Relevé expressly announces an exception for a particular Event. Duo/trio and group routines are not counted as solos.

4. Payments, Deadlines, and No-Refund Policy

ALL SALES AND PAYMENTS ARE FINAL. RELEVÉ DOES NOT ISSUE REFUNDS, CREDITS, TRANSFERS, OR CARRYOVERS. This includes pre-registration payments, deposits, reservation fees, registration fees, routine fees, late fees, processing fees, and installment payments. No refund, credit, transfer, or carryover will be issued because of withdrawal, cancellation, injury, illness, scheduling conflict, travel difficulty, change in studio participation, reduction of entries, failure to attend, disqualification, or dissatisfaction with results. This policy applies regardless of who made the payment, except where a refund is required by applicable law.

Payment must be made by the deadlines published by Relevé. A routine is not fully registered until payment is received. Unpaid routines may be removed from the Event, and an unpaid studio account may be denied scheduling information, awards, future registration, or participation until the balance is paid in full.

Late fees may be added beginning 30 days before the Event or on another published due date. Returned or reversed payments may result in additional fees, suspension of the account, and collection activity. The Registrant is responsible for reasonable collection costs and attorneys’ fees to the extent permitted by law.

Any payment plan approved by Relevé does not change the nonrefundable nature of payments. If an installment is more than 10 days late, Relevé may declare the entire remaining balance immediately due.

5. Event Changes, Capacity, and Scheduling

Relevé determines the Event schedule and may schedule any solo, duo/trio, or group routine on any day or at any time within the published Event dates. Registrants are responsible for being available throughout those dates. Relevé may adjust performance order, award times, rooms, stages, judges, staff, or other Event details as reasonably necessary.

Relevé may close an Event when capacity is reached. Relevé also reserves the right to combine, divide, move, postpone, reschedule, modify, or cancel an Event because of enrollment, venue requirements, safety concerns, government action, weather, emergency, or other circumstances.

If an Event is postponed, rescheduled, relocated, converted to another format, or otherwise modified, registrations and payments will apply to the modified Event and remain nonrefundable. If an Event cannot proceed because of circumstances beyond Relevé’s reasonable control, including severe weather, natural disaster, epidemic, government action, venue closure, utility failure, labor disruption, terrorism, or another emergency, Relevé may provide a replacement Event or other accommodation in its sole discretion; however, no refund, credit, transfer, or carryover will be owed except where required by applicable law.

6. Routine Divisions, Ages, and Skill Levels

The age division for a routine is determined using the participants’ average age as of the first group competition date of the season, unless current published rules state otherwise.

When dancers in a routine have different skill levels, the routine may be entered no more than one level below the highest participating dancer’s skill level. When dancers span multiple age divisions, the routine may be entered no more than one age division below the oldest participating dancer’s age division, subject to the registration system and current published rules.

Relevé’s judges or directors may move a routine, adjust its eligibility, or deduct points when it is entered in an incorrect age, level, genre, or other division. All eligibility, scoring, placement, and award decisions are final.

7. Music, Choreography, Costumes, and Content

The studio and Registrant are responsible for obtaining all permissions and licenses required for music, choreography, costumes, and other materials used in a routine. They agree to defend, indemnify, and hold Relevé harmless from third-party claims arising from their failure to obtain those rights.

Music must be uploaded through the designated registration system by the published deadline. A backup copy should be available at the Event. Missing, late, unreadable, or incorrect music may result in a delay, deduction, or inability to perform.

All routines, music, choreography, and costumes must comply with Relevé’s family-friendly standards. Relevé may require a change, apply a deduction, disqualify a routine, or stop a performance that it determines is unsafe or inappropriate.

8. Deductions and Awards

A deduction or loss of award eligibility may result from, among other things:

  • music not being uploaded by the required deadline;

  • unauthorized teacher or adult assistance backstage or during a performance;

  • failure to complete a routine;

  • unsafe or non-family-friendly music, choreography, content, or costume;

  • entry in an incorrect skill level, age, genre, or division;

  • disrupting the Event schedule without prior approval; or

  • exceeding the registered or permitted time limit.

Soloists must be present at their designated award ceremony to be eligible for High Point Royalty unless Relevé approves an exception. All judging, scoring, deductions, rankings, and award decisions are final.

9. Assumption of Risk and Participant Health

Dance and athletic activities involve inherent risks, including falls, collisions, sprains, strains, bruises, broken bones, serious injury, illness, exposure to communicable disease, and, in rare circumstances, death. Participants voluntarily assume all known and unknown risks associated with participation in or attendance at an Event.

Each participant is responsible for understanding and remaining within their physical abilities. A participant should not take part when injured, ill, medically restricted, or otherwise unable to participate safely. Relevé may remove or restrict a participant when staff reasonably believe participation presents a safety concern.

10. Release of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, each Registrant and participant releases and agrees not to hold liable Relevé, its owners, directors, officers, employees, judges, teachers, agents, independent contractors, volunteers, affiliates, sponsors, and host facilities for claims, losses, injuries, illnesses, death, or property damage arising from attendance at or participation in an Event, including claims based on ordinary negligence.

This release does not apply to liability that cannot lawfully be waived. If the Registrant accepts these Terms for a minor, the Registrant confirms that they are the minor’s parent or legal guardian or that they have obtained the parent or legal guardian’s authorization and agreement to the applicable release and participation terms.

11. Emergency Care

If a participant needs urgent care and a parent, guardian, or emergency contact cannot be reached promptly, the Registrant authorizes Relevé and Event personnel to contact emergency services and take reasonable steps to assist the participant. The participant and parent or guardian remain responsible for all resulting medical and transportation expenses.

12. Photography, Video, and Publicity

Events may be photographed, recorded, livestreamed, or otherwise documented. To the extent the Registrant has authority to grant permission, the Registrant and participant grant Relevé a worldwide, royalty-free right to photograph and record the participant at an Event and to use the resulting images, audio, and video for Event coverage, broadcasts, websites, social media, advertising, promotion, archival purposes, and other lawful business purposes, without compensation.

The Registrant is responsible for obtaining all necessary parent or guardian permissions for registered minors. Any written accommodation request concerning a participant’s image should be submitted to Relevé before the Event; Relevé will review the request but cannot guarantee exclusion from incidental crowd or background footage.

13. Personal Property

Relevé and the host facility are not responsible for lost, stolen, or damaged personal property. Participants and attendees should keep valuables secure and should not leave belongings unattended in auditoriums, dressing rooms, hallways, or backstage areas.

14. Conduct and Safety Rules

All attendees must follow posted rules and instructions from Relevé staff and the host facility. Relevé may remove, disqualify, or refuse service to anyone who behaves in an unsafe, disruptive, abusive, threatening, dishonest, or unlawful manner. Removal or disqualification does not create a right to a refund, credit, transfer, or carryover.

15. Website and Account Use

Users must provide accurate account information, protect their usernames and passwords, and promptly report suspected unauthorized use. Users may not interfere with the website, attempt unauthorized access, introduce malicious code, scrape or harvest data for commercial purposes, impersonate another person, or use the website unlawfully.

The website and its content are provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis. Relevé does not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free access and may modify or discontinue website features at any time.

16. Intellectual Property

Except for content submitted by users, the website and its text, graphics, photographs, logos, layout, software, and other content are owned by or licensed to Relevé and are protected by applicable intellectual-property laws. They may not be copied, reproduced, modified, distributed, displayed, or used commercially without Relevé’s prior written permission.

By submitting content through the website, the user confirms that they have the right to submit it and grants Relevé a nonexclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to host, reproduce, process, and display that content as reasonably necessary to operate the website, administer Events, and exercise the permissions expressly granted in these Terms.

17. Third-Party Services and Links

The website may contain links to or integrations with third-party websites, payment processors, registration systems, or other services. Relevé does not control and is not responsible for third-party content, availability, security, or practices. Use of a third-party service may also be governed by that provider’s terms and privacy policy.

18. Disclaimer and Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Relevé disclaims implied warranties, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and noninfringement. Relevé will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for lost profits, data, or business opportunities arising from the website or an Event.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Relevé’s total liability arising from the website, an Event, or these Terms will not exceed the amount the claimant paid directly to Relevé for the specific Event giving rise to the claim. These limitations do not apply where prohibited by law.

19. Indemnification

To the fullest extent permitted by law, the Registrant and studio agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless Relevé and its owners, directors, officers, employees, judges, agents, independent contractors, affiliates, and host facilities from third-party claims, damages, liabilities, judgments, costs, and reasonable attorneys’ fees arising from: (a) inaccurate registration information; (b) lack of required permission or authority; (c) infringement involving music, choreography, images, or other submitted material; (d) violation of these Terms or applicable law; or (e) the acts or omissions of the Registrant, studio, participant, or their representatives.

20. Privacy

Use of the website and registration system is also subject to Relevé’s posted Privacy Policy. The Registrant consents to the collection and use of information as described in that policy and is responsible for obtaining any consent needed to provide information about minors or other participants.

21. Changes to These Terms

Relevé may revise these Terms from time to time. The version posted when a registration or payment is submitted will govern that transaction unless a later change is required by law or is accepted by the Registrant. Continued use of the website after revised Terms are posted constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms for future use and transactions.

22. Governing Law and Venue

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Utah, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. Any legal action relating to these Terms, the website, or an Event must be brought in a state or federal court with jurisdiction in Salt Lake County, Utah, unless applicable law requires otherwise.

23. Severability, No Waiver, and Entire Agreement

If any provision of these Terms is found unenforceable, it will be limited or removed only to the extent necessary, and the remaining provisions will continue in effect. Relevé’s failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver of that provision. These Terms, together with the applicable registration materials, published Event rules, payment terms, waiver or release, and Privacy Policy, constitute the agreement between Relevé and the Registrant concerning the website and Events. If Event-specific written terms conflict with these Terms, the Event-specific terms control for that Event.

24. Electronic Acceptance

Checking an acceptance box, entering a name, clicking an acceptance or payment button, submitting a registration, or otherwise electronically indicating agreement is intended to serve as the Registrant’s electronic signature and acceptance of these Terms. The Registrant should save or print a copy for their records.
